UAE foreign ministry notes Iranian embassy to protest against Iran’s remarks

According to the declaration of the United Arab Emirates, on August 16 local time, the Ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation of the United Arab Emirates summoned a senior diplomat of the Iranian embassy in the United Arab Emirates and submitted a note to him, strongly protesting the recent remarks on Afghanistan made by the Iranian government and leaders. In the note, the Ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation of Afghanistan said that the relevant statements made by the Iranian government and leaders are inflammatory and unacceptable. They are interference in the internal affairs of the United Arab Emirates and violations of its sovereignty, which violate the basic norms of international relations. These remarks will have an adverse impact on the security and stability of the Gulf region. The note also reminded Iran of its responsibility to ensure the safety of the UAE embassy and diplomatic staff in Tehran in accordance with the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations. Before that, Iran’s foreign ministry, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard and Iranian President Rohani have strongly condemned the normalization of relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel, calling it a strategic mistake and a historical folly. Iranian President Rohani has warned the United Arab Emirates not to let Israeli forces into the region, and Iran will respond in a different way if this happens. (head office reporter Sun Jian)
