South Korea’s ruling Democratic Party lags behind the opposition party for the first time in nearly four years

According to the Yonhap news agency on August 13, a data released by realmeter, a South Korean pollster, showed that the common support rates of the largest opposition party, the future United Party and the ruling party, were 36.5% and 33.4%, respectively, which is the first time that conservative parties have overtaken the Communist Party since October 2016. Commissioned by Seoul traffic broadcasting station (TBS), realmeter conducted the survey on 1507 adults in South Korea from October 10 to 12. The results show that the support rate of the future United Party will be 36.5%, 1.9 percentage points higher than last week. On the contrary, the common support rate was 33.4%, down 1.7 percentage points from last week. In terms of regions, the support rate of the United Party will increase in all parts of South Korea in the future. The support rate of the people in Busan, Weishan and Qingshang South Road was 48.5%, 5.7 percentage points higher than last week. They were followed by Daegu city · Qingshang North Road (50.9%, 5.4%), Seoul City (39.8%, 4.1%), Datian city · Shizong city · Zhongqing Road (39%, 3.8%). On the contrary, the support rates of Guangzhou, quanluonan Road (47.8%, – 11.5%) and Datian · Shizong · Zhongqing Road (28.6%, – 5.6%) declined significantly. < p > < p > in terms of age, 50-59 years old (41.1%, 8.2 percentage points), over 70 years old (49.4%, 5.4 percentage points) and 20-29 years old (34.7%, 5.1 percentage points) had increased support for the future United Front Party. On the contrary, the common support rate of over 70 years old (21.8%, – 5.9 percentage points) and 50-59 years old (34.7%, – 5.1 percentage points) decreased. From the perspective of political orientation, although the United Front Party will lose the support of the conservative group (59.7%, 3.5 percentage points), it will also gain the support of the progressive group (16.9%, 5.1 percentage points). On the contrary, they lost the support of progressive group (55.4%, – 3.9%). In the future, members of the United Party will pay tribute to the disaster areas in Quanzhou, propose to prepare the fourth supplementary budget, and write the spirit of May 18 into the draft of the new party platform to attract a large number of intermediate voters in the face of rising public dissatisfaction with the government’s property market regulation.
