Samsung Electronics topped the list of top 50 Korean brands in 2020 released by international brand consulting agency Interbrand on Tuesday, with brand value of 67.7903 trillion won (about 397.4 billion yuan), up 2% year-on-year.
specifically, the total value of the top 50 brands in South Korea this year was 153 trillion won, with a year-on-year increase of only 0.7%. Hyundai Motor ranked second with a brand value of 15.7093 trillion won, up 4.8% year on year. Kia motor and naver ranked third and fourth, with brand values of 7.1315 trillion won (- 7.2%) and 6.1694 trillion won (11.9%) respectively.
the total value of the top four brands is 96.8006 trillion won, accounting for 63% of the top 50. In addition, SK Telecom, Samsung life, KB National Bank, Shinhan bank, LG Electronics and SK Hynix ranked among the top 10.
in terms of brand value growth, kakao grew the fastest with an increase of 46.6%, followed by LG life health (23.3%) and ncsoft (20.7%)
