Rome, August 18 (Xinhua) Cesare romiti, founder of Italy China Foundation and former chairman of Fiat Automobile Group, died on the 18th in Milan, Italy, at the age of 97. Romiti was born in Rome in June 1923. He served as the general manager and CEO of Alitalia, and then worked in Fiat Automobile Group from 1974 to 1998 as CEO and chairman. < p > < p > romiti founded the Italy China Foundation in 2003 and served as its chairman until 2018, committed to promoting exchanges and cooperation between Italy and China. In 2010, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, romiti was awarded the “Sino Italian friendship Contribution Award” established by the Chinese people’s Association for friendship with foreign countries in Rome.
