Beijing, August 18 (Xinhua) the Palestinian Authority said on August 17 that it would withdraw from the Dubai World Expo after the UAE and Israel reached a peace agreement and agreed to normalize their relations. The Palestinian government said in a statement that “the Palestinian Authority has cancelled its plan to participate in the Dubai World Expo in October 2021.” It is reported that the Dubai World Expo was originally scheduled to be held in Dubai, UAE in October 2020, but due to the new epidemic situation, the World Expo was postponed to October 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. On August 13, the United Arab Emirates and Israel reached a peace agreement. According to the agreement, Israel will suspend its claim to sovereignty over some parts of the West Bank and is committed to expanding and developing relations with Arab and Muslim countries. In the coming weeks, Israel and the United Arab Emirates will sign bilateral agreements on investment, tourism, direct flights, security, technology, energy and mutual embassies.
