Thanks to the effective control of domestic epidemic situation and the arrival of summer peak season, the overall take-off and landing sorties and passenger volume of Shanghai airport in July shrank compared with may and June. In May and June, the number of take-off and landing sorties of Shanghai airport were 24083 and 24747, respectively, with a year-on-year decrease of 45.05% and 41.92%. The passenger throughput was 1.413 million and 1.9201 million, respectively, down 78.65% and 70.38% year-on-year. In terms of the year-on-year growth of cargo and mail throughput, it decreased in July. In May, the cargo throughput was 336000 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 10.13%. In June, the cargo throughput was 305600 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 2.55%. At the same time of airport throughput recovery, passenger traffic volume of airlines also showed a significant recovery in July. From the perspective of the three major airlines, in July this year, Air China’s passenger turnover increased by 29.4%, the average occupancy rate increased by 4.6% month on month, and the number of passengers increased by 31%; the passenger turnover of China Southern Airlines increased by 25.06%, the passenger occupancy rate increased by 3.56%, and the number of passengers increased by 26.61%; the passenger traffic volume of China Eastern Airlines increased by 39.05% compared with that of last month.
