Ministry of Foreign Affairs: the incident of Meng Wanzhou is a political event out and out. Canada acts as an accomplice of the United States

Recently, China International Television (cgtn) produced a news investigation program “the secret behind the Meng Wanzhou case” to restore the cause of Meng Wanzhou’s arrest, causing widespread concern. According to reports, the “key evidence” for Meng Wanzhou’s alleged fraud by the US side is a PPT obtained by HSBC executives after meeting with Meng Wanzhou in 2013. But HSBC said the US investigation into Huawei was not initiated by HSBC. HSBC also said that in response to the US Department of justice information request, HSBC only provided factual information, did not “fabricate” evidence or “conceal” the facts, nor distorted the facts or harmed any customers for its own interests. Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian responded to the incident at today’s regular press conference. Zhao Lijian said that China’s position on the Meng evening boat incident is consistent and clear. The Meng Wanzhou incident is a serious political incident, which fully exposes the political plot of the United States to deliberately suppress Chinese high-tech enterprises and Huawei Company. Canada plays the role of an accomplice to the United States. Zhao Lijian: I want to emphasize that the Chinese government is determined to safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of its citizens and enterprises. Any country or anyone who attempts to seek their own interests by damaging the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises is doomed to lose more than it gains.
