International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Grossi will visit Iran for the first time since taking office
Beijing, August 22 (AFP) on August 22, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that the agency’s director general, groxi, would visit Iran on August 24 and meet with senior Iranian officials. This will be Grossi’s first visit to Iran since taking office as director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency in December 2019. According to previous media reports, the International Atomic Energy Agency voted on June 19 to adopt the draft resolution on Iran’s nuclear access. The resolution calls for full cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to provide verification access to the two sites of the IAEA. On the same day, Iran’s foreign ministry said that the resolution on Iran’s nuclear access adopted by the International Atomic Energy Agency was “not constructive”. Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna, Gary babadi, said on the same day that the resolution would neither allow Iran to open channels based on unfounded accusations, nor force Iran to change its position.
