After U.S. President trump repeatedly complained that U.S. shower standards prevented his hair from being perfect, the U.S. government proposed on Wednesday to change the rules to allow shower heads to increase water pressure.
the proposal would effectively allow the shower to include multiple shower heads, which would meet the 2.5 gal (9.4 L) per minute set by Trump’s Republican colleague bush when he was president in 1992.
the DOE’s plan follows a comment made by trump at an event held at the White House last month. He said at the time that he didn’t think American shower heads were fast enough to keep his hairstyle perfect.
trump said, “so when you take a shower, the shower head doesn’t come out of the water. If you want to wash your hands, it doesn’t come out, so what do you do? You can only wait a little longer and take a bath longer. Because of my hair, I don’t know how you are, but my hair must be perfect ”
in December last year, trump said that the U.S. environmental regulatory agency was studying the issues of sinks, faucets and toilets to revise rules aimed at saving water and heating fuel.
trump said at a small White House meeting of business leaders: “people have to flush the toilet 10, 15 times, not once.”
the U.S. Department of energy also proposed to relax the washing standards. The trump administration said the deregulation would save an average of $3100 per household in the United States. But environmentalists say relaxing bathroom equipment standards could increase energy and water costs.
it is not sure whether the plan can be implemented. Trump is running for re-election and will conduct a public opinion poll before voting on November 3. Even if he wins, the proposal could face challenges in court.
