[global network comprehensive report reporter Zhao Youping] according to Hong Kong media, the 2020-2021 session of the current Hong Kong parliament will start on October 14. According to Hong Kong’s “east net” and RTHK websites, the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress ruled that the “vacuum period” of the Hong Kong Legislative Council would continue to perform its duties for no less than one year. The Hong Kong government gazetted today (21) that the chief executive, Mrs Carrie Lam, pointed out that October 14 this year is the starting date for the general session of the current parliament from 2020 to 2021. According to Hong Kong media, the Hong Kong government has announced earlier that Mrs Lam will present her fourth policy address to the Legislative Council on the same day and attend the question and answer session of the Legislative Council the following day (October 15). However, due to the severe epidemic situation and limited social distance this year, the consultation on the policy address will be conducted in the form of video conference, and a total of 12 theme video conference consultation meetings will be held from next week.
