Now, it is high temperature summer, electric fan has become a cooling choice for many people. However, due to the design defects of the product itself, or does not meet the standards and other reasons, the high-speed flying electric fan has hidden dangers, especially for children. As for the hidden danger of electric fan injury, Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Bureau issued a consumption reminder on August 14. According to the product injury monitoring data of Guangdong Province, there are more than 300 cases of consumers going to see a doctor for injuries caused by electric fans in 19 sentinel hospitals in Guangdong Province. Recently, the number of injury cases of electric fans has increased again. About 60% of the cases were caused by the rotating blades when the fingers were inadvertently inserted into the protective net of electric fans. < / P > < p > in the cases verified by the investigation, about 60% of the cases were cut by the rotating blades due to the careless extension of the fingers into the protective net of the electric fan, which is the most common type of injury. This kind of injuries mainly involve floor fans, and some are table fans. The injured people include adults and children. In severe cases, fractures and severed fingers can be caused. Although consumers are negligent in this kind of injury, the main reason is the design defects of electric fans, which may be unknown to most consumers. In the early stage, the gap of the protective net cover of electric fan was very large, and it was easy for people to touch the rotating fan blade to cause injury. In order to reduce this kind of injury, the relevant requirements have been made in the current product standards. According to the national compulsory standard GB 4706.27-2008 “safety of household and similar electrical appliances – Part 2: Particular requirements for fans”, the type B test finger used to simulate adult fingers shall not touch dangerous moving parts with a force not exceeding 5N. Combined with the investigation cases and the results of market purchase and inspection, some industrial fans (also known as “horn fans”) do not meet the standards, and the gap between the mesh covers is too large or the wire is soft and easy to deform. < / P > < p > in addition, the current national standards are IEC standards. Although some products meet the standards, the protection of children is not considered. European standards have already stipulated that not only adult test fingers should not touch dangerous moving parts, but also children’s test fingers. < / P > < p > in this market purchase and inspection, some products with high popularity and large sales volume were mainly inspected, and the European standards were used for testing. It was found that nearly half of the samples (all in line with the national standards) could be inserted by children’s test fingers. < / P > < p > in a case of product injury monitoring in Guangdong Province, a 2-year-old boy cut his finger when he put his finger into the protective net cover of the electric fan. After inspection, the product met the national standard, but it did not meet the European standard, so there was a safety risk. < / P > < p > in the cases verified by investigation, about 30% of the cases were cut by the rotating ceiling fan when taking and placing things or other activities, which was another major injury. The injured people are mainly adults, and the injured parts are mainly head and arm. According to the analysis, the standard does not require that the ceiling fan should be equipped with protective net cover. The ceiling fan is located in the place where consumers are hard to reach when they are in normal operation. When the injury occurs, consumers do not close the ceiling fan in time when they are close to the ceiling fan. The main reason is that the safety awareness is weak. This kind of injury is not related to the product quality. However, the number of such injuries is large, which should be paid attention to.
1。 Choose products from regular manufacturers, such as offline shopping, you can use the method of finger touch for screening. It is recommended not to buy products that can extend the gap of the protective net cover into the fingers.
3。 Industrial fans are often used for ventilation in shopping malls, restaurants, factories and other places. Their power is high and their blades are sharp, which may cause more serious injury than ordinary household electric fans. Therefore, more attention should be paid to the risk of cutting in these places. When swinging and moving, they should be turned off first.
4。 For ceiling fans, attention should be paid to keep a certain distance between the installation position and people’s activity space. When taking and placing articles around the ceiling fan, it should be closed first.
