In the latest news from Reuters, three Iraqi security forces told Reuters that an explosion occurred near the kraischan crossing between Iraq and Kuwait on Monday evening, targeting a convoy carrying equipment for the US military. It is not clear whether there are U.S. troops in the convoy and whether any personnel were injured. The Iraqi military denied that it had happened. In a tweet, the armed forces of Kuwait denied an attack on an outpost on the country’s northern border with Iraq, affirming that the border is stable and secure. It is reported that ashab al kahf, a little-known Iraqi Shiite militia, claimed responsibility for the attack and released a video showing the explosion in the distance. The group claims to be able to destroy U.S. military equipment as well as almost the entire border crossing.
